Lapsang Souchong Tiger Tea
Not In Stock From £3.95
Lapsang Souchong is a black tea originally from from the lower hills of the Wuyi Mountain range of Fujian Province in Eastern China. It is sometimes referred to as a smoked tea.
Lapsang is distinct from all other types of tea because lapsang leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, taking on a distinctive smoky flavour.
Our Lapsang Tiger tea grows in soil which naturally gives the leaf a light tarry character, this is enhanced further by firing the tea over wood chippings. Contrary to most perceptions of Lapsang, it is the teas with the most subtle of smokey characters (like this one) that is most sought after. Perfect taken with afternoon tea as it works extremely well as an accompaniment to chocolate cake!
PREPARATION
Place 3g (1tsp) of tea per person in a pot or cup infuser. Pour on fresh, boiled water and brew for 3 - 5 minutes according to taste. The same leaves can be re-used for up to 3 infusions.
