Moroccan Mint Green Tea
In Stock From £3.90
Deliciously minty and invigorating – Moroccans drank mint tea long before green tea found its way there from China a couple of centuries ago. When it did, they discovered that blending the two made a delicious, refreshing and health-giving infusion.
Our Moroccan Mint is made with dried mint leaves and Gunpowder green tea; for real authenticity, add a few fresh mint leaves to the final brew and sugar to taste. Truly uplifting!
PREPARATION
Place 3g (1tsp) of tea per person in a pot or cup infuser. Using boiling water to steep green tea can damage the leaves, so instead use water that is around 80°c (boiling water that has been allowed to cool for 2 minutes). Brew for 3 - 5 minutes according to taste. The same leaves can be re-used for up to 3 infusions.
Iced Mint Tea Recipe
Brew your tea at double the normal strength. You achieve this by using a higher leaf to water ratio, not by brewing for longer as this can give you a bitter taste. We recommend 2tsp of tea per person. Sugar can be added if you prefer a sweeter iced tea, this should be dissolved in with the brewing tea. As soon as the tea is brewed, pour immediately into a glass filled with ice (the instant cooling helps the tea retain its flavour).
Garnish with slices of fresh lime, cucumber and a sprig of mint.
